This page contains information to support your 12-week personalised walking programme as part of the Motivate RA LJMU programme. On this page you will find:

Programme Introduction

With support from a physical activity expert, the aim of the programme will be to gradually increase your physical activity levels (by walking) with a view to reaching the government recommended 150 minutes of physical activity a week. You will not need any equipment for this programme and you will receive:

  • A Polar Ignite fitness watch, that connects to a smartphone app.

  • A progressive walking programme designed with a physical activity expected and delivered via the watch and app.

  • Physical activity support messages to guide you through the programme and offer encouragement and advice.

  • Various educational material (that can be found at the bottom of this page) that provides information on the benefits of physical activity, government guidelines and ways to increase your activity.
