What is
MOTIVATE CR+?

Cardiac rehabilitation is an important component of care for patients with coronary heart disease, acting to improve quality of life and reduce hospital readmission. However, only half of people offered cardiac rehab take part, and there can be significant delays between discharge and starting the programme.

In this study we aim to develop a mobile health (mhealth) intervention that aims to bridge the gap between discharge and cardiac rehab. This home-based walking programme will enable patients to track their prescribed walking exercise and physical activity, and receive advice and feedback from trained professionals, while they wait for formal rehabilitation.
